Where is the Earth Station located?

Our Earth Station is located on the territory of the Main Satellite Ground Control Station of Azercosmos along the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway, Azerbaijan.

How reliable and secure is Azercosmos Teleport?

Azercosmos Teleport is the only WTA-certified (Tier 4) teleport in the region. The Tier 4 certificate guarantees almost 100% reliability and security of technical infrastructure and work process, and shows our team’s high level of professionalism.

As the first and only satellite operator in the South Caucasus, we provide secure and highly reliable satellite-based communication services and solutions. We offer high-quality video, data, and teleport services and solutions to our partners in Europe, the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and Africa.

How many telecommunication satellites does Azercosmos operate?

We operate two telecommunication satellites - Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2.

What is the difference between Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2 telecommunication satellites?

Both Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2 are telecommunication satellites and provide TV and radio broadcasting, Occasional Use, data and broadband services and solutions. Their differences encompass their characteristics and communication payload.

Which video services does Azercosmos provide?

Via our satellites, broadcasters can quickly reach an audience of millions of people across the world and cost-efficiently receive a wide range of video services and solutions, including turnaround services, video contribution and distribution, occasional use and other services.

Which frequency bands do Azercosmos telecommunication satellites provide satellite services over?

Azerspace-1 provides services over C- and Ku-bands, whilst Azerspace-2 offers secure services over Ku-band.

Which beams do Azercosmos telecommunication satellites have?

Our telecommunication satellites have a large coverage area, providing satellite services to 1/3 of the globe. Azerspace-1 beams include Central Asia & Europe beam, and Africa & Europe beam over C-band; as well as Europe and Central Asia beam over Ku-band. Azerspace-2 beams include Europe & Asia, Pakistan & Afghanistan, West Africa, and Central Africa beams over Ku-band.

Why can’t I see a specific channel broadcasted by Azercosmos telecommunication satellites?

The broadcasting of channels depends on their availability in your specific country. To see the list of channels aired in your country, please visit the Channel List page.

Where can I find the BISS code of one of the channels?

For BISS codes of Azerbaijani channels, please contact Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication Production Union of the Republic of Azerbaijan. For BISS codes of other channels, please contact your service provider.

Which Data services does Azercosmos provide?

Azercosmos provides data services and solutions, including Broadband solutions in C- and Ku-band coverages, VNO services, VSAT, Mobile Backhaul, IP Trunking and others.

What are the application areas for the Data services?

The application areas of our data services include aviation, maritime, government, telemedicine, education/distant learning, disaster recovery, fixed and mobile solutions, and many other areas.

Which EO services and solutions do you provide?

Apart from providing satellite imagery, we offer various services, such as orthorectification, mosaicking, radiometric balancing, as well as solutions for change detection, urban planning, vegetation mapping, monitoring of natural resources, oil spill detection and much more.

What application areas do you provide EO services for?

We provide remote sensing solutions in a broad range of areas, including agriculture, civil and military mapping, environmental protection, crop and forestry monitoring, disaster management, exploration of natural resources, land planning, maritime surveillance, etc..

How can I order satellite imagery?

If you would like to order satellite imagery or consult a customer support representative, please contact imagesupport@azercosmos.az.

What is a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and how to connect to it?

Once your imagery is ready for use, you will receive a username, password and IP address from our customer support representative. Using these credentials, you will be able to access and download your ordered imagery.

Which software should I use to open satellite imagery?

Satellite imagery can be opened and viewed via software such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, etc. Additionally, Adobe Photoshop can also be used as a tool to view satellite imagery if you are not familiar to the remote sensing tools.

What are the formats of the satellite imagery?

Satellite imagery can be received in GeoTIFF, JPEG2000 and JPEG Regular formats upon customer’s request.

What is an incidence angle?

The incidence angle is the angle from the target point of view. It represents the angle between the ground and look direction from the satellite, combining the pitch and roll angles.

What are the characteristics of Azercosmos Direct Receiving Station?

Direct Receiving Station (DRS) provides on-demand and continuous services to global satellite operators to receive satellite data.

Which services does the Direct Receiving Station provide?

With its real-time transmission, DRS allows to access LEO satellites, instantly downlink data, process it, and present the end-product, ensuring an immediate reactivity to the process of acquiring the imagery. Our DRS can be utilized by other satellite operators on pass or minute basis. Additional solutions offered by our DRS are X-band / S-band downlinks on reserved or on demand basis with high or low priority.

What is Azconnexus?

Azconnexus is a satellite broadband service developed and managed by us. The main advantage of Azconnexus satellite Internet is its accessibility in even most remote parts of the world.

What are the available subscription packages and what is the price?

How long does it take before my service is installed?

The duration of installation and activation of your service may vary depending on each individual case. Please address your questions to geosales@azercosmos.az.

What warranty does my modem carry?

The modem you are supplied with carries one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This does not include physical damage or damage caused by poor handling of the device.

Does Azercosmos carry the responsibility for the damage caused to my dish?

The dish that is supplied for the Internet access is not covered by Azercosmos for damage caused by natural disasters, customer’s interference/damage, or damage caused by users themselves. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the equipment is insured in advance.

I am relocating, what should I do?

When relocating, you should notify us at least two weeks before moving. This will provide us enough time to prepare the relocation of your service, assisting with the relocation of hardware, and pointing the dish.
